Nahmakanta Lake
Charging water
receiving from rainbow stream
get the children
plugged in
to creation at our center
she is a spider
in the land of plenty
seen only when secrets
are allowed to reveal
themselves
giant hemlocks protected
by the Appalachian trail
where many months trek to find something
still unknown
but we do know it-
our purpose
as the seers of beauty
the stillness of harmony
the art of awareness
the separation now-one
again
but this time its better
this time we are not afraid
of where our next meal is coming from
what we are missing is provided by our neighbors
we are not chimpanzees worried
the gorillas will steal our fruits
we are not tribes or territories
we are a collective communication
as cohesive as the underground
roots and mycelium
as devoted to care
as the delicate evolution
of leaf cutter ants
but first
I need a new definition
to mother into
the next generation
