ABOUT

Nicolette Sipperly PhD

Nicolette’s work serves as a bridge to a world where the viewer is fearlessly engaged with a dynamic landscape. With her paintings and poetry pairings, she shares personal and universal guiding principles through internal ecosystems and external experience.

Meet our Land

Nicolette works with elements of artistic exploration and knowlege of ecology and evolution science. She offers foot holds for a human experience that knows its belonging is found in connection to the trees and flowers, the eyes of an animal and human community and ultimately the heart of the earth.

Nicolette has focused her attention on plants all her life. She grew flowers for her nursery business early in life, lead production in vegetable and flower farms her and earned her PhD in plant ecology and evolution. Always exploring her fixation on chemical reactions and evolutionary patterns in tandem with her compulsions to manipulate words and color and make sculptures with flowers in a garden and in a vase, Nicolette’s relationship with plants and the natural world sits firmly at the intersection of art and science.
