About:

  • Dr. Nicolette Sipperly is an artist, scientist and guide. Nicolette earned her PhD in Ecology and Evolution with a focus on plant adaptation and extensive solo field work in the rocky mountains. Additionally, Nicolette maintains her artistic practices of painting, floral and garden design. Throughout her formal schooling, she developed a keen interest in the ways educational systems can be adjusted to meet the unique needs of students. Nicolette's mission is to empower each student to incorporate their individual essence into their work. With her background in art, science and education, Nicolette provides an environment for students to develop knowledge and skill while drawing upon their intrinsic character and attributes. Nicolette offers support at the individual level and in a team work setting that allows students to bring more of themselves into their work. This serves the students and their community.

Purpose:

Dr. Sipperly’s goals are to provide pathways for the next generation to unify the human economic system with the ecosystems of the natural world. Dr. Sipperly has led workshops, served as a lecturer and presented scientific talks. Through each of these interactions she developed methods that integrate learning about the natural world (through biological sciences) and tools of self navigation. Her methods maximize efficiency of student development for success in school and career. The integrative educational framework supports students in forming  a strong “why” that will inspire curiosity and necessarily deepen their effort and interest. She reframes the balance between a student’s intrinsic nature and eternal influences. As a result, students are empowered to identify and avoid distractions to develop greater focus and motivation. Additionally, students learn to embrace challenges as an opportunity to deepen their connection to their work for increased creativity and innovation. Finally, with the prolific implementation of technology and AI support, Dr. Sipperly operates from the point of view that it is important for young people to focus on their personal connection with nature and remain grounded in a world beyond what humans have identified already. Education framework that integrates self navigation skills and natural sciences feeds the personal connection to nature. Ultimately, a personal connection with the natural world, which includes human bodies and their environment,  is essential  for personal well being and for sustainable advancements in the future both on the individual and collective level.

Dr. Sipperly creates a multi sensory, integrative experience for her sessions using art work, connection to the body and story telling. Her presentations include scientific knowledge together with sensory activities  to build a personal understanding of the relationship between the human and natural world. The most unique and timely element of Dr. Sipperly’s approach is the prioritization of strengthening students’ personal motivations. The  innate need for belonging and purpose is at the root of all of our emotions and motivations. Individual hopes and dreams should be seen as something individuals  must develop for the good of everyone. By exploring emotions through this lens, individuals can identify the way they can each contribute with the most impact, which ultimately equates to achievement and/or financial success.
